About Speaking Engagements

David Meyers is passionate about reaching individuals with different abilities through music. Based on years of experience with this type of student, he has packaged his “Accessible Music Strategies” into an interactive program of songs and discussion. During many of his national speaking engagements this presentation has received high praise. In fact, he has been invited back to speak at Berklee College of Music’s Institute of Accessible Arts conference.

David is a multi-talented musician, composer and creative artist who has copyrighted over 200 songs, and developed entertaining games and routines included in his Accessible Music Strategies to unlock the musician in those with physical and cognitive processing limitations. His goal is to present opportunities to students with various abilities to thrive in music and other social environments.

David Meyers shares his vast experience in delivering Accessible Music to his students ranging in age from 9 - adult. These neurodiverse, special needs students are impacted by developmental disabilities, I/DD and /or autism. However, Dave has made enormous strides in involving them in music for a highly enjoyable experience.

"My goal is for children and adults with IDD to build confidence
knowing they can contribute to music. Music allows them to get comfortable with their own voices,
movements, creativity, and group participation. The desire to contribute to music is usually already there.
The instructor only helps unlock the innate ability by making music fun and rewarding." – David Meyers

The Doorbell Song

Those in the literal world respond better to things that are real.
That’s why I created the Doorbell song.
Players can musically respond with real life sounds and action.

After a Virtual Presentation on March 22, 2024

“My students truly enjoyed your presentation. I think you do a wonderful job at engaging and giving information and giving a good balance of both. It doesn’t feel overwhelming or feel as if you’re going through lecture. I think that’s what my students like the most! I would love to have any and all handouts and slideshows that you have so that students can go back and reference them. Thank you so much again and I look forward to doing this next semester with you!”
